Acustico's newest design is a Melbourne-made light made from recycled Australian car tyres, and Sam's hues for the Local Colour project speak to the same hot, ochre dusted roads where those tyres tread. For these colours, we sourced Australian red ochre, and incredibly rare and beautiful lilac ochre from Brave Ant in Redcliffe, Queensland. Each batch was ground by hand and suspended in natural and locally derived lime wash, sometimes left textural and gritty, sometimes creamy and smooth.

These tones were layered to form the backdrop for Acustico's photoshoot launching this new innovation in sustainable, gorgeous design to the Australian market.
